About the instructor
Michel Galliot is an ASCTI (American Society of Canine Trainers International) certified Law Enforcement K9 Instructor. He has over 400 deployments for Missing Persons Investigations and Criminal Investigations. Michel is a Deputy Sheriff/K9 Specialist for the Richland County Sheriff’s Department and operates K9 Search Special Operations LLC.
Michel is a wealth of real-world knowledge and brings the law enforcement perspective that we often lack in Search and Rescue.
Amira Armond will be assistant trainer. She is an ASCTI certified Human Remains K9 Handler with over fifty deployments for volunteer search and rescue. Amira is operational live-find and HRD with Chesapeake Search Dogs.
About the seminar
The seminar will be held Friday-Saturday-Sunday approximately 9am – 4pm each day. It will feature large sources, as well as low threshold in different environments such as ravines, creeks, buildings, vehicles, buried, etc.
All levels are welcome from beginner to advanced.

About the training location
Venue: 320-acre private farm north of Baltimore, in Forest Hill MD. This farm has multiple buildings and a variety of woods, streams, ravines, roads, and fields.
Weather: Typical November weather in Maryland is 60’s during the day, dipping into the 30’s and 40’s at night. It is very unlikely that we will see any snow or severe weather.
Food and lodging: You provide your own meals. There is a deli 5 minutes from the farm with many take-and-go meal options. Specific hotel recommendations will be sent to registrants. Off-grid camping with shared access to bathroom / shower is available to a limited number of people (coordinate directly to Amira Armond (kennelmanager@winterk9.com) if you are interested in this option).
Payment Details
Cost: $450 per dog. $200 to audit.
Payment must be received by August 31, 2026 to reserve your spot. The registration form will provide payment instructions when completed.
Cancellation policy: After August 31, 2026, there is no refund for individual cancellations. If an event or low registration causes the whole seminar to be cancelled, all ticket fees will be refunded.
